Dhaka, Aug. 19 -- Describing the Presidential election as a historic one, Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin on Wednesday expressed optimism that they will be able to conduct the polls in a nice manner.

"We don't have any sort of deficit in our preparation," he said at a press conference in the city's Nirbachan Bhaban, a day before the balloting scheduled to be held Thursday.

"We expect we will be able to conduct this historical election in a nice manner," he said.

Nasir Uddin said the election result will be published in the official gazette on Thursday, hours after the balloting.

The voting will be held in the session chamber of the Jatiya Sangsad from 2pm to 5pm on Thursday.
