Dhaka, Oct. 15 -- The National Citizen Party (NCP) held a protest in Mirpur on Wednesday, demanding justice and compensation for the 16 workers killed in a recent fire at a chemical warehouse and garment factory.
Mirpur Zone of NCP's Dhaka Metropolitan North, organised the protest which took place at 4 pm at Mirpur-10 Gol Chattar (Swadhinata Chattar).
Ariful Islam Adeeb, NCP's Senior Joint Convener and head of the Political Liaison Committee, presented three key demands during his speech:
1. Immediate arrest and trial of the owners of illegal chemical warehouses and garment factories, as well as those responsible for the fire.
2. Tk 1 crore in compensation for each family of the deceased.
