Narsingdi, July 2 -- A murder accused was allegedly snatched from police by a group of people following an attack in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident took place at Saydabad Gerry Ghat in the char area of Sreenagar union.

The accused is Selim Mia, 45, son of late Tayeb Uddin of Saydabad village.

According to locals, Selim has three cases against him, including allegations of murder, arson, extortion, robbery and assault.

Police arrested him during a drive at the village on Wednesday afternoon and were taking him to the police station.

However, at Saydabad Ferry Ghat, a group of people allegedly attacked police with bricks before snatching Selim from the custody.
