Dhaka, Aug. 13 -- Dhaka stocks witnessed a slight rise in the first hour of trading on Wednesday, while Chattogram saw a marginal decline.

At the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the key index, DSEX, gained 6 points, while the Shariah-based DSES and the blue-chip index DS30 advanced by 2 points and 1 point respectively.

Of the issues traded during the first hour, prices of 188 advanced, 116 declined, and 88 remained unchanged.

The turnover at the DSE crossed Tk 2 billion during the period.

In contrast, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw its overall index drop by 20 points in the first hour.
