, Oct. 5 -- year-old mechanic died after falling from the roof of a 10-storey under-construction building at Rupkotha intersection on Shah Abdul Karim Road in Jashore on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Sajjadul Islam, son of Azgar Hossain from Dewara Mathbaria village in Jashore Sadar upazila.

Sajjadul's colleague Sajib said the incident occurred around 2:30pm while he was working on the roof of the building, which is being developed by Exchange Your Development Limited. Sajjadul reportedly fell from the 10th floor, suffering a fractured skull and broken legs.

He was immediately taken to Jessore General Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
