Dhaka, Sept. 26 -- A masked gang of around 250 people allegedly attacked, vandalised and looted the Radda MCH-FP Centre in the capital's Mirpur-1 area late Thursday night, causing estimated damages and financial losses worth Tk 1.5 crore.

The attackers also forcibly occupied the healthcare facility and put up a signboard reading 'Sommanona Dokandar Samabay Samity Limited,' confirmed Dr. Nasrin Akhter, executive director of the center, on Friday afternoon.

According to Dr. Nasrin, the group entered the premises around midnight on Thursday after taking two security guards hostage.

They vandalized a brick building and three semi-pucca structures before looting valuable medical equipment, medicines, official records and cash.
