, Feb. 26 -- In a dramatic turn of events marked by confusion and protests, Md Mostaqur Rahman was appointed Governor of Bangladesh Bank within a day, replacing Ahsan H Mansur without prior announcement.
Mostaqur received his appointment on Wednesday and joined office on Thursday, ending intense speculation that began earlier in the day over a possible change in the central bank's top post.
