JHENAIDAH, Nov. 2 -- A court on Monday sent a man to jail in connection with a case filed over raping a 10-year-old girl in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila.

The order was passed by the Jhenaidah Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court against Enamul Hossain, 25, a resident of Porahati union under Sadar upazila.

The case statement says Enamul lured the child to a paddy field on Sunday on the pretext of catching fish and allegedly raped her.

The girl returned home bleeding and informed her family, who admitted her to Jhenaidah 250-bed General Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge Md. Asaduzzaman, of Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station, said the victim's father lodged a complaint on Sunday, leading to Enamul's immediate arrest.
