Kushtia, June 24 -- A mobile court has fined a man Tk 10,000 for allegedly promoting the sale of counterfeit medicines at discounted prices through a mobile app called Medigo in Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia.

Accused Md Mehedi Hasan, 39, is the son of Ali Hossain of Hatia village under Jhaaudia union in Kushtia Sadar upazila. He was working as a sales representative (SR) for the Medigo app.

The mobile court was conducted by Executive Magistrate and Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Navid Sarwar in the Kumarkhali Thana Mor area on Wednesday evening. Officials from the District Drug Administration and police assisted in the drive.
