LDC Graduation: Bangladesh seeks Spain's support at UNGA
, June 8 -- State Minister for Foreign affairs Shama Obaed Islam on Monday sought Spain's support at the United Nations general Assembly (UNGA) on Bangladesh's LDC graduation.
Both sides underscored the importance of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the European Union (EU) to enhance bilateral trade.
The issues were discussed when Spanish Ambassador to Bangladesh Gabriel Maria Sistiaga Ochoa de Chinchetru paid a courtesy call on the State Minister for Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The United Nations Committee for Development Policy (UN CDP) has recommended that Bangladesh's Least Developed Country (LDC) graduation be postponed until November 24, 2029.
