Dhaka, Aug. 18 -- BNP Standing Committee member Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Tuesday said the name of former BNP Chairperson and Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia will remain "written in golden letters" as long as Bangladesh and the nationalist ideology exist.

He said the BNP is moving forward on the path of democracy shown by Khaleda Zia, whom he described as the "Mother of Democracy" and an uncompromising leader.

Rizvi, also BNP senior joint secretary general, made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion held ahead of a doa mahfil organised by the Dhaka South City unit of BNP at the Motijheel AGB Colony Community Centre in the afternoon, marking Khaleda Zia's 81st birth anniversary.
