Rajbari, June 26 -- A member of a Kased team participating in Muharram observances died of suspected heatstroke in Rajbari's Goalanda upazila on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Babu Sheikh, 55, son of Hamed Sheikh of the Daulatdia Canal Ghat area in the upazila.

According to family members and local sources, Babu Sheikh was taking part in a mourning procession organised by followers of Moksed Mridha of Ujanchar union in observance of the 10th of Muharram, marking the holy day of Ashura.

As the procession was approaching Moksed Mridha's residence around 12:30 pm, Babu Sheikh fell seriously ill amid the intense heat and collapsed.
