Dhaka, June 9 -- Jahangirnagar University (JU) has appointed Prof Dr Khandaker Mohammad Shariful Huda of the Department of Geography and Environment as the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

The university announced the appointment in an office order signed by Acting Registrar Dr ABM Azizur Rahman on Tuesday.

According to the order, the university relieved Prof Dr Md Shamsul Alam from his duties as Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences following his appointment as Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) and upon his request.
