Dhaka, April 4 -- The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase on Saturday approved separate proposals to procure two cargoes of LNG and 1 lakh metric tons of diesel to meet the growing demand for energy in the country amid global geopolitical instability.

The approval came from the 14th meeting of the committee held virtually with Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury in the chair, said Cabinet Division officials.

The meeting approved a proposal from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division to procure two cargoes of LNG from Aramco Trading Singapore Pte Ltd.

Besides, it gave another proposal the go-ahead to import 1 lakh metric tons of 50 PPM Sulphur diesel from Kazakh Gas Processing Plant LLP with around Tk 689.29 crore thro...
