Dhaka, Oct. 18 -- e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has expressed deep concern and shock over the devastating fire that broke out at the import cargo village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday afternoon.

In a Facebook post, Dr. Shafiqur wrote, "As the country's main international gateway, HSIA is not only a hub for passenger movement but also a significant symbol of Bangladesh's image."

Referring to recent fires in Dhaka's Mirpur and Chattogram's EPZ area, he said, "This incident at the airport raises serious concerns about whether it was a mere accident or an act of sabotage."

He also demanded a proper, impartial, and swift investigation into the fire.
