Dhaka, March 4 -- Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan on Wednesday reaffirmed the government's commitment to strengthening state institutions, saying lessons have been drawn from the shortcomings of the previous government.

"The main goal of the government is to run the state in line with the people's mandate, as the people are the owners of the state and we are their servants," he said while addressing a view-exchange meeting with officials from various departments at divisional and district levels at the Chattogram Circuit House conference room.
