Indian High Commission celebrates Gandhi Jayanti in Dhaka
Dhaka, Oct. 2 -- The 157th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was commemorated at the High Commission of India in Dhaka on Friday with a programme highlighting his ideals of truth, non-violence and selfless service.
The programme, organised by the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) of the High Commission, began with poster-making and quiz competitions for university and college students from across Dhaka. Renowned Bangladeshi quiz master Ferdous Bappy led the competitions, which focused on Gandhi's life, ideas and legacy.
