Indian HC warns against visa fraudsters posing as officials
Dhaka, Aug. 7 -- The Indian High Commission in Dhaka has warned the public against fraudsters posing as its officials and promising visas or other consular services in exchange for money.
In a statement issued on Friday, the High Commission said it has received complaints that fraudsters are contacting people while falsely identifying themselves as officials of the mission and making such offers.
It clarified that none of its officials will contact anyone over the phone, WhatsApp, social media or email to offer visas or demand money for issuing visas or providing consular services.
"All visa applications are processed strictly according to the prescribed procedures," the High Commission said.
