, Oct. 10 -- At least 15 people, including women and children, were injured when a passenger bus collided head-on with a truck in Narail Sadar upazila on Friday afternoon.
The accident occurred in front of Tularampur Highway Police Station on the Narail-Jashore highway. After the collision, the bus veered off the road and fell into a roadside ditch.
According to police and eyewitnesses, the bus was heading to Jashore from Narail when it lost control and hit a Dhaka-bound BRTC truck coming from Benapole.
Locals rescued the injured and rushed them to Narail Sadar Hospital.
Highway police and fire service personnel later reached the spot.
Firefighters rescued passengers trapped inside the bus and sent them to the hospital.
