, Sept. 23 -- The government on Wednesday approved proposals to procure 10,000 metric tonnes of lentils and 155,000 metric tonnes of MOP and DAP fertilisers at a total cost of around Tk 1,058 crore.

The approvals came at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) held with Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury in the chair.

Under the first proposal, the committee recommended the procurement of 10,000 metric tonnes of lentils in 50-kg sacks through the Open Tendering Method (OTM) under the Ministry of Commerce.

Joytun Auto Rice & Dal Mills Ltd of Phultala, Khulna, was recommended as the supplier for the procurement at a total cost of Tk 76.89 crore. The price of the lentils was fixed at Tk 76.89 per kg.
