Dhaka, March 5 -- The government has taken the initiative to introduce women-only Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) bus services in the capital, following directives from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The special bus service will be operated entirely by female drivers, conductors and helpers to ensure safe and comfortable travel for women commuters, an official handout said on Wednesday.

As part of the initiative, a set of awareness slogans has been finalised for the women-friendly BRTC buses.
