Gazipur, Feb. 1 -- Advocate Ali Naser Khan, a central leader of the National Citizen Party (NCP) and the 11-party alliance candidate for Gazipur-2 constituency, on Saturday alleged that an attempt was made to kill him by running him over with a car during election campaigning.

Speaking at a press briefing held in front of the Gazipur Metropolitan Police office on Saturday night, he said the incident occurred at Porabari Bazar after Maghrib prayers while he was conducting election activities.

Ali Naser Khan alleged that 'supporters of the Paddy Sheaf candidate' repeatedly attempted to hit him with a car and also issued threats.
