, Nov. 4 -- The full court meeting of the Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday recommended nearly a thousand judges from senior assistant judges to district judges in promotion panels, officials said.

The decision was made during a full court session presided over by Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed, with the presence of all judges of the High Court Division.

Sources said the meeting proposed 345 additional district judges for inclusion in the panel for promotion to district judge. However, several judges under investigation for various allegations were excluded. Of the remaining, nearly 300 judges were included in the promotion panel.
