Dhaka, Feb. 24 -- Four police personnel have been withdrawn from duty over allegations of assaulting journalists and university students during an anti-drug drive at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Ramna Division under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Mohammad Masud Alam on Tuesday evening told media that the four police members allegedly involved in the incident have been recalled to the police lines and departmental action will be taken against them.

"Efforts are underway to identify two or three more personnel involved. Action will also be taken against them," the DC added.
