Dhaka, March 17 -- At least five people were killed in separate road accidents in the district's Sadar and Katiadi upazilas on Monday.

According to police and local sources, a truck lost control and overturned beside the road around 11am in front of Achmita George Institute High School in Katiadi on the Bhairab-Kishoreganj regional road.

At that time, a farmer named Iman Mia, 26, who was feeding grass to his cow beside the road, was crushed under the truck and died on the spot along with the animal.

Iman Mia was the son of Khalek Mia of Charipara area in Achmita union of Katiadi upazila.

In another incident around 2pm, a motorcycle lost control at Nilganj intersection in Kishoreganj town, leaving two youths critically injured.
