Kurigram, Aug. 10 -- A fisherman was killed and five others sustained serious injuries after being electrocuted while fishing in the Buridah River in Kurigram's Rajarhat upazila on Monday noon.

The deceased was identified as Md. Rubel Mia,28, son of Rashid Molla of Haridwashor Taluk village. The injured individuals- Mozammel Haque ,28, Abdur Rahman ,32, Aminul Islam ,19, Shakil Mia ,22, and Anisur Mia ,29, are all residents of the same village.
