Chattogram, June 22 -- A fire that broke out at Rubber-Tyred Gantry (RTG) crane of New Mooring Container Terminal (NCT) of Chittagong Port on Monday afternoon has been brought under control within 30 minutes.

The fire broke out around 2:30 pm at RTG-4014, stationed at Berth No. 4 in the southern section of the terminal, said Additional Secretary and Acting Secretary of Chittagong Port, Md Nasir Uddin.

On information, the port authorities and a firefighting unit of the Chattogram Fire Service and Civil Defence and the Bangladesh Navy launched a coordinated operation and brought the blaze under control within about 30 minutes.
