Dhaka, July 12 -- Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury on Sunday urged private universities to utilise the money saved from the government's decision to exempt them from paying tax for improving the quality of education, expanding research and enhancing their international standing.

He also stressed that self regulation by universities is more important than excessive government control to ensure good governance and maintain academic standards.
