Dhaka, March 18 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is sending Eid gifts to families of BNP activists or leaders who became victims of enforced disappearance, extrajudicial killings and other forms of state repression, as well as the families of those killed during the July Uprising of 2024.

The BNP has been organising such programmes to recognise and provide support to such families for a number of years now under the umbrella of 'Amra BNP Poribar' (We the BNP Family). It became a regular feature under the severe repression and constant persecution faced by the party's activists under the previous government.
