Chittagong, Oct. 10 -- The body of expatriate July activist Abdul Hamid was buried with state honors in his family grave in Chattogram on Friday, 18 days after his death.

His remains arrived at Chattogram's Shah Amanat International Airport this morning on a Bangladesh Biman flight, where relatives wept openly upon receiving him.

The body was later handed over to the family in the presence of a magistrate and government officials.

Last year, numerous expatriate Bangladeshis took to the streets in the UAE in solidarity with the anti-fascist July movement.
