, March 18 -- e-janaza of former BNP MP and veteran politician GM Fazlul Haque was held at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Wednesday.

The namaz-e-janaza took place at 12:00pm led by Senior Imam of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat, Muhammad Saifullah.

Earlier, his son spoke on behalf of the family seeking prayers for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram offered prayers for the deceased and expressed condolences to the bereaved family members and the people of Chandpur.

He described Fazlul Haque as a man of integrity who devoted himself to the service of the country.

The Speaker later placed a wreath on the coffin as a mark of respect.
