Dhaka, March 11 -- Despite repeated calls to conserve electricity, shopping malls and markets in Dhaka continue to display dazzling decorative lights, raising concerns about unnecessary power consumption.

Many commercial establishments appear to be ignoring the government's energy-saving directives, keeping bright and elaborate lighting arrangements switched on even during peak hours.
