Dhaka, Sept. 16 -- Hawkers' stalls, makeshift markets and vehicle stands have encroached on much of the road beneath the Bhulta-Gawsia flyover in Rupganj of Narayanganj, leaving only a narrow passage for traffic on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway.

Long-distance buses, trucks, rickshaws, battery-run rickshaws and CNG-run auto-rickshaws are forced to negotiate the congested stretch, often squeezing past one another as they encounter oncoming traffic.
