Dhaka, July 8 -- year-old man was killed and his wife critically injured in a suspected robbery at their residence in the capital's Jatrabari area early Monday.

The incident occurred at Khan Villa, a four-storey building in Bibir Bagicha's Ityadi Goli area near Gate-1.

The deceased was identified as Ismail Khan, 80, while his wife, Saleha Begum, 75, is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in critical condition.

Sub-inspector (SI) Awlad Hossain of Jatrabari Police Station said a team visited the house after receiving information, but found no one there. "We later went to the hospital and spoke to their relatives. Further details will be known upon investigation," he said.
