Cumilla, Aug. 9 -- A Cumilla court on Sunday sentenced an elderly man to five years in prison in a case filed for attempting to rape a seven-year-old child.

The court also fined 75-year-old Ali Akbar alias Kailla Tk 10,000.

Judge Md Abdul Hannan of the Cumilla Child Violence Tribunal handed down the verdict, said State lawyer Abul Kalam Faraz.
