, Oct. 4 -- An elderly man was electrocuted at Char Boroloi area in Phulbari upazila of Kurigram on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Soleman Ali, 75.

Soleman was preparing to take his cattle toward the char area in the morning.

Unaware that a live electric wire was trapped in a nearby green bamboo pole, he accidentally touched it and died on the spot, said Borobhita Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Ataur Rahman Mintu.
