Benapole, May 24 -- export activities between Bangladesh and India through Benapole, the country's largest land port, will remain suspended for seven days on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

Port, customs and goods clearance operations will remain closed from May 25 to May 31, officials said on Saturday.

However, movement of passport-holding passengers between the two countries will continue as usual during the period, said Badruzzaman Boni, general secretary of the Benapole C&F Agents Staff Association.

Import-export and goods clearance activities will resume from the morning of June 1, he added.

The customs house, however, will remain open on a limited scale except on Eid day.
