Dhaka, March 21 -- ul-Fitr prayers were held at the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Saturday morning, with a large number of devotees participating in the congregation arranged beneath the South Plaza tunnel.

The prayers were held at 8:00am at the specially prepared venue.

Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Hafiz Uddin Ahmad joined the congregation along with officials and employees of the Parliament Secretariat and devotees from different walks of life.

Arrangements were made for women to offer Eid prayers at the venue for the first time.

Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat Kaniz Mowla also took part in the congregation.

Following the prayers, dates were distributed among the worshippers.
