Sangsad Bhaban, April 16 -- Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md. Asaduzzaman on Thursday told Parliament that the government has taken effective steps to withdraw politically motivated harassment cases filed during the tenure of the previous Awami League regime.

"The current government is fully aware about the withdrawal of politically motivated harassment cases filed during the previous Awami League regime and has already taken effective steps in this regard," he said while replying to a scripted question from treasury bench member Md. Monowar Hosen (Magura-1).

The Minister said the interim government had formed a committee to review such cases and based on its policy decision, no murder case was withdrawn.
