, Oct. 30 -- A student of Dhaka University (DU) has been suspended for six months for allegedly making hateful and offensive remarks about Islam, the Holy Qur'an, and the Muslim community on social media.

The expelled student is Abrar Faiyaz, a student of the 2021-22 session at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), said DU Proctor Saifuddin Ahmed on Wednesday.

According to the Proctor's office, three other DU students including Mehtajur Rahman and Tasnia Islam, both from the BBA-30 batch of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), have been accused of making offensive and sexually suggestive comments toward women wearing hijab.
