, Aug. 19 -- A dolphin carcass was recovered from Kuakata sea beach in Patuakhali district on Tuesday.
The Irrawaddy dolphin, measuring six feet in length, washed ashore near Jhau Bagan area of the sea beach around 3pm.
A number of injury marks were found on the dolphin's abdomen and mouth.
Locals said the dolphin might have died after being injured by fishing nets.
On information, members of the Dolphin Conservation Committee visited the site.
They said this is the sixth dead dolphin to have washed up at various points of the Kuakata beach this year.
The committee has called for an investigation to know the causes of the deaths.
