Dhaka, June 30 -- Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has expanded its AI-based traffic camera network to 19 key intersections in the capital with four new cameras added on Tuesday, said DMP Commissioner Musleh Uddin Ahmed.

Speaking to reporters after inaugurating an AI camera at Lake Road under Tejgaon Traffic Division, the commissioner said technology is being gradually extended to other important intersections in the city.

He said around 1,500 traffic cases have so far been filed using AI cameras.

As the fines vary depending on the nature of the offences, updated information on the total amount of fines collected is available with the traffic division.
