Dhaka, Aug. 2 -- screen theatres - Geet and Sangeet - have once again shut down operations due to the ongoing crisis in the Bangladeshi film industry, marked by a lack of quality new releases and a sharp decline in audience turnout.

Located on the Dholairpar-Jurain Road beside the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway, the twin cinemas had been screening Bangladeshi films on a regular basis. However, with little to attract moviegoers in recent months, the halls have gone dark for an indefinite period.

The last film screened before the closure was 'Togor', starring Ador Azad and Puja Cherry, on Saturday.
