Dhaka, Aug. 19 -- Bangladesh and Qatar have discussed issues of mutual interest, with particular focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation in energy, labour and financial sectors.

The two sides placed emphasis on enhancing labour cooperation, ensuring the welfare and protection of Bangladeshi workers, and expanding employment opportunities for Bangladeshi workers, including skilled and semi-skilled workers.

The discussions were held during separate meetings with Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman who concluded his two-day official visit to Qatar on Wednesday, officials said.
