Dhaka, Sept. 15 -- Five more deaths from dengue were reported in the 24 hours leading up to Monday morning, as Bangladesh continues to grapple with a surge in infections during the peak season.

With the latest fatalities, the total number of deaths from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh has risen to 155 this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Two of the new deaths were reported in Barishal Division, two in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and one in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
