, Oct. 27 -- Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has advised maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra to keep hoisted distant warning signal no. two (R) two as cyclonic storm "Montha" over Southwest Bay and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal lies over Southwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal.

It was centered at 12 PM on Monday about 1300 kms southwest of Chattogram port, 1245 kms southwest of Cox's Bazar port, 1200 kms southwest of Mongla port and 1190 kms southwest of Payra port, said a Met office bulletin.

It is likely to move northnorthwestwards and intensify further.

It may cross Andhra Pradesh coast of India around evening/night of 28 October 2025.
