, Oct. 20 -- Two crude bombs blasted near the meeting venue of National Citizen Party (NCP) in Bogura town on Monday afternoon, spreading panic in the area.

Shawkat Imran, a member of the NCP's district coordination committee, said NCP chief organiser for northern region Sarjis Alam attended a district coordination committee meeting at the Zila Parishad auditorium.

Around 4 pm, a group of attackers hurled two crude bombs near the auditorium courtyard, causing panic and forcing attendees to flee, said Hasan Basir, Officer-in-Charge of sadar police station.

Sarjis Alam, speaking to jounalists, condemned the attack and called for identification and punishment of those responsible.
