Consumer rights body to get more manpower, digital push: Commerce Minister
, Sept. 17 -- The Directorate of National Consumers' Right Protection (DNCRP) will be strengthened in terms of technology, manpower and institutional capacity to ensure people's right to safe, pure and quality products, Commerce Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir said on Thursday.
Muktadir was speaking as chief guest at a views exchange meeting with officials at the DNCRP conference room.
The minister said ensuring that no one is forced to buy adulterated, substandard or harmful products with their hard-earned money is an important responsibility of the state, adding that the department has a crucial role in protecting the consumer rights of the country's 170-180 million people.
