, April 23 -- As the People's Republic of China continues to refine its governance model, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) has emerged as a cornerstone of socialist consultative democracy, shifting the focus to a system where the people's welfare is prioritised through broad-based deliberation, officials told a visiting Bangladesh media delegation on Wednesday.

Marking over 76 years of evolution since its inaugural session in September 1949, they said the CPPCC has transitioned into a sophisticated mechanism designed to ensure that the people get to discuss their own affairs.
