Savar, Sept. 3 -- A worker died after falling from the third floor of an under-construction building in the Katlapur area of Savar on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Bisheshwar, 49, hailing from Brahmanbaria district.

According to police and locals, the accident occurred in the morning when Bisheshwar was dismantling a bamboo scaffolding - the dangerously unstable temporary structure used by construction firms to lift workers and materials - at the under-construction building owned by one Anwarul Islam.

Although scaffoldings themselves are not unstable, when they are made of bamboos as they often are in Bangladesh, accidents have proven to be never far away.
